Ionization potential of co
Web26 nov. 1993 · The ionization potential of CO has been measured using resonantly enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) mass spectroscopy. The result, IP(CO) = 113031.3 ± 2.2 cm −1 , is corrected for field ionization effects by zero field extrapolation and it is in close agreement with results from classical absorption spectroscopy. WebThe ionization energy of molecular nitrogen is 1503 kJ mol -1, and that of atomic nitrogen is 1402 kJ mol -1. Once again, the energy of the electrons in molecular nitrogen is lower than that of the electrons in the separated atoms, so the molecule is bound. As a third example, consider fluorine, F 2.
