WebJan 13, 2014 · If you're looking for a fiberglass 7.5 - 8 foot 4 weight rod to cast well up to 20-23 meters (65-75 ft.), I think you should probably stick to graphite or boron. Most 4 weight glass rods will perform best up to about 50 ft.. 6, 7, and 8 weight glass rods will perform well at those distances however.
